Curated by Syed Faraz Ali \\\"To see the light we must first acknowledge that we are in the dark.\\\" Dominic Rouse was born in England in 1959 and became a press photographer at aged sixteen. In the early nineteen-eighties he left his newspaper job to study commercial photography and became interested in large-format studio work. On finishing college he opened his own studio and has been an independent photographer ever since. In 1996 he bought his first computer workstation and began producing toned silver gelatin prints from digitally-composed large format negatives, blending computer technology with traditional photographic process. Rouse lives in North-East Thailand with his wife Wilaiwan and their daughter Angeline.
