Unable to take exotic holidays they toyed with deliberate escapism. Landscapes that floated right across their line of sight became sites of exploration and hedonistic study. A desire to be from the land and away from it exists as a force in all of the work. Rendering it a vibrant playground.
Scribbles, motifs and repeated gestures, evoke a sense of ‘green spirituality’ and exotic, lush backgrounds become staging grounds to host mysterious narratives.
